Simple, Small Nut Thalers
The perfect simple, small nut thalers recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Butter
- 125 g Sugar
- 300 g Flour
- 200 g Ground hazelnuts
- 4 cl Hazelnut liqueur
- Preheat the oven to 175 degrees top / bottom heat. Beat the butter and sugar until frothy. Gradually stir in the flour until you get a smooth dough.
- Finally fold the ground hazelnuts and hazelnut liqueur into the batter.
- Roll out the dough to about 0.5 cm thick and cut out small thalers.
- Cover the tray with baking paper and place the punched out thalers on the baking paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 10 minutes. Pay attention to the baking color, otherwise the thalers will darken very quickly.
- Take the baked thalers out of the oven and let them cool down. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or leave neat if you like.
- I’m baking a lot of cookies at the moment. Since I almost always bake the same family favorites, I rarely add a new variety. All that I normally bake can be found in my KB.
- These little nut thalers are a new creation. Just tried it out. The size of the thalers is variable. I took a small gift glass to cut out. In these glasses I give away my homemade spices.
