Fried donut bites with cinnamon and sugar

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 240 g flour
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 45 g butter
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Cinnamon sugar, for rolling
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 minute; Total time approx. 1 hour 21 minutes

First, heat the butter until it is liquid. Then simply put all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix with the dough hook of a food processor or hand mixer until an elastic dough forms. The yeast now needs time to prove. To do this, cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and place it in a warm place for about half an hour. The dough should then have risen to about twice its size. Now it’s time to roll out the dough and cut out the desired shapes. For the donut bites, shot glasses or the attachments of a piping bag are suitable as cookie cutters. The cut-out bites then need to prove again for about 20 minutes. After that, they are deep-fried. To do this, heat vegetable oil in a pan and then add the bites one by one. But be careful! It only takes a few seconds for the bites to be ready. As soon as the bites are out of the fat, place them in a bowl with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar and roll them thoroughly in the mixture. Then they are placed on kitchen paper to cool and drain.
