Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 500 g apples, peeled and cored
  • 250 ml orange juice
  • 230 ml apple juice
  • 1 large mandarin orange(s) or orange
  • 1 kg gelling sugar, 1:1
  • ¼ tsp gingerbread spice
  • 1 pinch(s) of anise powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

tastes good not only at Christmas

Bring the apple pieces and juices to a boil and season with anise and gingerbread spice. Simmer until the apples are soft, then stir in the gelling sugar and simmer for 4 minutes. Rinse 5 small jars with cold water and fill to the brim with the hot jam. Screw on the lids and let the jars cool for 10 minutes, then turn them upside down (to create a vacuum).
