Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

easy to prepare, vegetarian, eye-catcher at parties

Mix the cream cheese with softened butter and sour cream. Finely dice the shallots, garlic, and paprika. Add these and the finely chopped herbs and season to taste. Note: Reserve some diced paprika and chives for decoration! Place the farmhouse bread upside down on the countertop and cut horizontally into 3-4 layers or large slices. Spread the cheese mixture on the bottom slice of bread, place the next layer on top and spread the mixture on top. Repeat this process until all slices are stacked. Then spread the outside of the bread with the remaining cream cheese mixture. If possible, prepare a few hours in advance—it’s also possible the day before. Arrange on a cake plate and decorate with halved cocktail tomatoes, diced paprika, and chives, just like a “normal” cake. The farmhouse bread can be aged for 1-2 days. However, it should then be allowed to mature overnight.
