Baking: King Cake Muffins
The perfect baking: king cake muffins recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Spelled flour type 630
- 125 g Butter
- 125 g Raw cane sugar
- 0,5 packet Vanilla sugar
- 0,5 packet Baking powder
- 3 piece Eggs
- 1 pinch Salt
- 125 g Candy fruits
- 1 tablespoon Potato starch
- 25 g Raisins
- Cut the candied fruit – if necessary – and the raisins into small pieces. Mix everything with a tablespoon of potato starch.
- Make a heavy batter out of flour, butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, baking powder and salt. Fold in the powdered fruits and pour the dough in portions (about a tablespoon) into the paper cases that are in a muffin tin (12 pieces).
- Bake the muffins at 180 ° C in a preheated oven for about 30 – 40 minutes (toothpick test). Take out, let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Note 4: I made double the amount and baked a mini cake from the remaining dough in my little Frankfurter Kranz form. Excellent for freezing. you can also spice up the dough with a little rum.
