Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 bell pepper(s), red or yellow
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 jar capers
- 2 cans of tuna in its own juice
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 chili pepper(s)
- Sambal Oelek
- 4 servings of pasta (spaghetti)
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
(sharp)
Dice the onions and bell peppers and sauté them in a pan (preferably with high sides) in plenty of olive oil. Finely chop the garlic and add it along with the chili pepper, cut into small strips (I deseeded it first). Dice the tomatoes and add them (if you like, you can deseed and peel them, but it’s not necessary). Drain the capers and add them to the pan. Finally, add the tuna, simmer, and add 1 teaspoon of oregano and basil. Season with salt and sambal. Cook the spaghetti, transfer it to a large bowl, and mix the “tuna sauce” with the spaghetti. It’s incredibly easy to prepare and tastes delicious. This recipe is from the Maldives and I’ve only added a few additions. Serve with a fresh green salad.
