Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 150 g margarine
  • 180 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • ⅛ liter cream
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • 250 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg yolk, mix with a little milk
  • Almond(s) or
  • poppy or
  • Sesame or
  • Caraway seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Mix margarine with cheese. Add cream, salt, and paprika. Mix. Combine flour and baking powder and knead in. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Roll out to a 5 mm thickness, cut out shapes, place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, and brush with egg yolk. Sprinkle with sliced ​​almonds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or caraway seeds. Bake at 180°C for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Keep an eye on the dough, as it will overbrown quickly.
