Amarena Cherries La Maria

- 350 g Fresh sweet cherries
- 250 g Sugar
- 4 cl Amaretto
- 1 Pc. Lemon
- 1 Pc. Vanilla pod
- Pit the cherries (remaining approx. 300 g), place in a saucepan with the sugar and heat carefully.
- Add about half a lemon juice and a glass of amaretto. The cooking juice forms immediately, simmer it carefully and add another glass of amaretto. Add the vanilla pulp. Let simmer carefully for 1 minute!
- Now you can taste, but be careful! The crowd is very hot! Add some acid or schnapps or both according to your own taste.
- Put the cherries with the juice in not too large screw-top jars. Close the glasses and let them cool upside down. Now the jars are tightly closed. Bon appetito !! With ice cream or pudding – a pleasure!
