Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 100 g margarine
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 4 tbsp milk
- 1 packet of vanilla pudding powder
- 250 g wheat flour
- 5 g ammonium bicarbonate or alternatively 2 tsp baking powder
- 200 g powdered sugar
- some water or lemon juice
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
with hartshorn salt – like from the baker
Mix all ingredients together (mix the baking powder according to the instructions on the packet and be careful – it has a rather unpleasant smell). Using two tablespoons, evenly distribute the batter into small heaps on two baking sheets lined with baking paper, leaving plenty of space between them as they will spread quite a bit. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (top/bottom heat) on the middle rack for about 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool completely after baking. Now mix 200g of powdered sugar with a little water or lemon juice to make a glaze and spread it over the American cookies. This amount is enough for about 10 to 12 American cookies.
