Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • ⅛ liter of carbonated mineral water
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 8 tbsp oil
  • 3 egg whites
  • ½ tsp salt
  • powdered sugar

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff peaks form. Then combine all the other ingredients. Carefully fold the egg whites into the batter and let it rest until the bubbles subside (about 5 minutes). Bake in the waffle iron until golden brown. One scoop of batter makes one waffle in a standard waffle iron. Dust with powdered sugar. The waffles are also delicious cold or can be reheated in the microwave. Tip: Serve with chocolate sauce, applesauce, cherries, or whipped cream.
