American Chocolate Chips Cookies
The perfect american chocolate chips cookies recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 Eggs
- 130 g Sugar
- 150 g Sugar brown
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 200 g Margarine or butter at room temperature
- 380 g Flour
- 200 g Block chocolate
- Preheat the oven to 150 degrees top / bottom heat. No circulating air, does not achieve the same result!
- Chop the chocolate blocks with a kitchen knife or chopping knife. The pieces can be of different sizes and shouldn’t be too small. Put aside.
- Beat eggs and sugar until frothy. Stir in salt, baking powder and vanilla extract. Gradually add the butter / margarine and stir until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Add flour and stir. Don’t panic if the dough seems too firm, that’s how it should be! Finally add the chocolate chips and stir.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread 9 balls of dough on each. The dough balls should have a diameter of approx. 7-8 cm and not be too dense, because the dough still “runs”. This is how the cookies get their typical shape. Bake 15-20. Not too long and too dark, otherwise the cookies will get too dry. After the baking time, the cookies are still quite light and soft to the touch (similar to shortcrust biscuits) Let the cookies cool on the tray, otherwise they will break. Stored in a cookie jar, they’ll keep for a couple of weeks (although with us they never get that old …)
