American coleslaw with mayonnaise

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 head of pointed cabbage, approx. 800g
  • 2 carrots
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 6 tbsp mayonnaise (salad)
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Sugar
  • 1 dash of cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

A coleslaw recipe from the USA

Coarsely grate the carrots. Remove the stalk from the pointed cabbage and quarter the cabbage. Now cut the cabbage into fine strips. For the dressing, combine the mayonnaise, cream, and vinegar. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Toss with the salad and let it sit for at least an hour. If you like, you can also finely grate a medium-sized onion and mix it in as well.
