American Crispy Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp salt, coarse
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, smoked
  • 1,150 g chicken wings
  • 80 ml honey
  • 80 ml Sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ¼ tsp sesame oil
  • Sesame to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Crispy Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings – oh yes!! Very spicy.

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees C (top/bottom heat). Line a deep baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on the sheet. In a small bowl, mix together the baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Place the chicken wings in a large bowl, sprinkle with half of the baking powder mixture, and mix well. Sprinkle the remaining baking powder mixture over the chicken wings and mix well again. Place the wings on the rack and place the sheet in the center of the oven. Bake the wings for 20 minutes, then flip and bake for another 20 minutes. Flip the wings a second time and bake for another 15 minutes; they should be brown and crispy. Remove the wings from the oven and place them in a large bowl. In a bowl, mix together the honey, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Drizzle over the chicken wings, flipping the wings so they are completely coated with the glaze. Arrange the chicken wings on a plate or platter, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve. Serve with French fries.
