Orange Glazed Chicken Wings

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 10 chicken wings
  • 250 ml maple syrup
  • 250 ml tomato ketchup
  • 3 orange(s), zest and juice
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sauce (steak)
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tsp Tabasco
  • 6 cloves garlic, pressed

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 15 minutes

with sweet and spicy orange marinade, also sensational for dipping

For the marinade, combine all ingredients (except the wings) in a saucepan and bring to a boil briefly, then simmer over medium heat for about 45 minutes, stirring frequently. Generously marinate the chicken wings with the sauce (set aside about 1/3) and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight). Allow to come to room temperature before grilling, then grill over medium heat for about 20 minutes until crispy. Use the reserved marinade for dipping.
