- Preheat the oven to 180 ° C O / U heat. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
- Mix the butter or margarine (I used half each) in the mixing bowl until smooth. Then gradually stir in the sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and salt until it becomes smooth. Stir in each egg for about 30 seconds on the highest setting of the mixer. Mix the flour and baking powder and stir in alternately with the milk on medium heat.
- Using an ice cream scoop (or 2 tablespoons), use half of the dough to place 12 piles not too close to the baking sheet; Put the tray in the oven and bake for 17 minutes. After 10 minutes of baking, brush the surface of the dough with milk, then finish baking for the last 7 minutes.
- Place 12 piles of dough from the rest of the dough on a prepared baking sheet. Proceed in the same way as with the 1st sheet.
- After baking, let the Americans cool with the baking paper on a wire rack.
- For the icing, mix the powdered sugar with milk (or water) to a thick icing. Spread the icing on the underside of the Americans and decorate with sugar sprinkles. I covered part of it with chocolate icing. Some got a store-bought metallic icing.
