Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 900 g plum(s) , (weight for already pitted)
  • 250 ml cherry juice
  • 250 ml mulled wine
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 5 drops of bitter almond flavor

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Winter dessert sauce with plums (makes 4 jars of approx. 370 ml each)

Place the pitted plums in a saucepan along with the liquid and honey. Scrape out the vanilla pod, halve it, and add it to the pan along with the vanilla seeds and cinnamon stick. Simmer for about 10 minutes and then add the bitter almond flavoring. While still hot, pour into clean twist-off jars and turn upside down for 5 minutes. Turn over and let cool. The plums go well with pudding or ice cream.
