Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 750 ml schnapps (grain)
  • 150 g vanilla sugar
  • 10 vanilla pods
  • 250 g brown sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 56 days; Total time approx. 56 days 15 minutes

Split the vanilla pods, coarsely grind four of them, and place them in a tightly sealed bottle along with all the other ingredients. Shake well and let stand in a cool place for at least six weeks. Shake daily to dissolve the brown sugar. Strain the liqueur and add the vanilla pods back in. Let stand for another two weeks to allow it to mature. The brown sugar also adds a brown color; if you don’t like this, you can also use regular white sugar! Shelf life: 1 year. Use for baking, desserts, or simply to enjoy!
