Anise rolls

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g wheat bran, lightly sieved or wheat flour (type 1050)
  • 30 g yeast
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 300 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 50 g margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp anise, whole
  • 1 tbsp anise, ground
  • Water (sugar water) for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Place the wholemeal or flour in a bowl and make a well in the center. Combine the yeast with some of the milk and honey, pour it into the well, and let it rise for about 15 minutes. Add the remaining milk, salt, margarine, and aniseed, and knead everything well. Let it rise for about 30 minutes. Shape the rolls and let them rise for another 20-30 minutes on a greased baking sheet. Brush with sugar water and bake in a preheated oven (approx. 200°C) for about 30-40 minutes.
