Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • 400 ml sugar
  • 400 ml flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 400 ml currants, black
  • 100 ml hazelnuts
  • 150 g butter, very cold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy. Combine the flour and baking powder and stir in. The dough should be a thick, sticky mass. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Spread the berries on top. Use a cheese grater to slice the very cold butter from the narrow, long side of the piece and spread them evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts on top. Bake for 35 minutes at 175°C (top/bottom heat) and cut into pieces while still warm. Remove from the baking sheet immediately, as the cake is very sticky.
