Apple and potato gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g potatoes
  • 200 g meat sausage
  • 2 apples, sour, approx. 150 g
  • 100 g whipped cream
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 pot of thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • 100 g Emmental cheese
  • 50 g mountain cheese
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 50 minutes

Peel and wash the potatoes and cut into thin slices. Remove the sausage skins and cut the bologna into thin slices. Quarter and peel the apples and core them. Cut the apples into thin slices. Grease a gratin dish and layer the sausage, potato, and apple slices. Mix the cream and milk. Peel the garlic and press it through a garlic press. Pluck the thyme leaves from the stalks. Add to the cream and milk along with the garlic and season with salt and pepper. Pour everything over the gratin. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes. Grate the cheese. Sprinkle it over the gratin about 20 minutes before the end of the cooking time and bake until golden brown. Serve garnished with thyme stalks.
