Apple Beignets

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 80 g flour
  • ⅛ liter cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 apples, Boskoop or 500 g other sour apples)
  • 2 tbsp, levelled powdered sugar or
  • Cinnamon – sugar to taste
  • 500 g fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Apple fritters

Mix the flour, cream, eggs, and salt into a thick batter. Peel the apples, core them, and cut them into approximately ½ cm thick slices. Heat the frying oil to 180 degrees Celsius. Dip each apple slice into the batter with a fork, then turn over. Drain briefly and fry in the hot frying oil for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Keep the beignets warm until all the cakes are cooked. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or a cinnamon-sugar mixture before serving.
