Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 2 hours

uncomplicated apple tart

Put the flour in a mixing bowl and make a well in the middle. Crumble the yeast and add it. Add the milk and 1 tablespoon of sugar to the yeast, mix until smooth, and let it rise, covered, for about 15 minutes. Add the remaining sugar, vanilla sugar, butter, and egg. Knead everything together and let it rise for another 30 minutes. Roll out the dough, press it into a greased springform pan (28 cm diameter), and raise the edges slightly. For the topping, mix the crème fraîche, egg, and vanilla sugar until smooth and spread on the dough. Peel the apples, cut them into wedges, arrange them fan-shaped on the cream, and sprinkle with almonds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (160°C fan-assisted oven) for about 25-30 minutes. Heat the jam, spread it over the apples, and sprinkle the edges with powdered sugar. Best served lukewarm with cinnamon cream.
