Apple cake with marzipan a la Christa

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 200 g sugar
  • 125 g butter or good margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 100 g marzipan – raw mass
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 orange(s)
  • 4 m.-sized apples
  • Cinnamon & sugar for topping as needed
  • 1 jar apricot jam

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

For the base, make a dough from flour, sugar, butter, eggs, baking powder, vanilla sugar, cornstarch, marzipan, and salt. Pour it into a greased springform pan. Top with the topping, including 1-2 oranges and 4 apples, cinnamon, and sugar to taste. Bake in the oven at 180°C (gas mark 3) for one hour. When the cake is done and still warm, top with apricot jam.
