Apple calzone

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 pack of vegan pizza dough from the refrigerated section
  • Flour for dusting
  • ½ jar applesauce
  • 3 tbsp xylitol (sugar substitute)
  • 3 tsp, leveled cinnamon powder
  • 1 large apple
  • some lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • possibly plant milk (plant drink) or oil for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

vegan

Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan oven). Cut the apple into small cubes, place in a bowl, and drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning. Then add the applesauce, sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside and let it rest for a while. Meanwhile, roll out the pizza dough and dust with flour to prevent stickiness. Cut out the dough using a round cutter. Top the circles with the apple mixture and fold them into pastry parcels. Brush with plant-based milk or oil, if desired, and bake for about 15 minutes, until the dough is lightly browned. I use organic pizza dough and organic applesauce for this recipe.
