Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 rolls, stale
  • 375 ml cream
  • 125 g butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 800 g apples
  • 125 g almonds (flakes or sticks)
  • 4 egg whites
  • Butter for the mold
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Slice the rolls, warm the cream, and pour over the rolls. Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, egg yolks, and cinnamon until fluffy. Peel the apples, quarter them, remove the cores, and slice them. Mix the egg mixture, almonds, and apples with the soaked rolls. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold in. Grease an ovenproof dish, pour in the mixture, and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 30-45 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve while still warm.
