Mashed potatoes with apples, an incredibly delicious combination

Peel, wash, and chunk the potatoes. Boil in salted water until soft. Meanwhile, peel, quarter, and core the apples, then cut the flesh into thin wedges. Cook in a little water with the sugar. Drain the potatoes and place them in a large bowl. Pass the cooked apple slices through a fine sieve and add to the potatoes. Blend everything in a blender, place in a saucepan, and heat gently. Dice the bacon. Peel and finely chop the onions. Fry the bacon in a pan and fry the onions until golden brown. Add the bacon and onion mixture to the potato mixture and season well with salt and pepper.
