Apple – pear – puree

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g pear(s)
  • 300 g apples
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pack of lemon peel
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 dl water

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the apples and pears and cut into small pieces. Bring the water, vanilla sugar, lemon zest, cinnamon, and lemon juice to a boil, then add the fruit. Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes (depending on the size of the pieces). Drain the water and pass the pieces through a food mill while still hot or mash them with a potato masher. We like the puree best served lukewarm with vanilla yogurt or natural quark, or with steamed dumplings or pancakes. Tip for those in a hurry: Cook the fruit unpeeled and eat it as apple pieces instead of making it into a puree.
