Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 5 apples
- 3 eggs
- 150 g honey
- 150 g flour
- 200 g butter
- 20 pieces of sugar (approx. 100g), for the caramel
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Preheat oven to 180°C. Prepare the caramel: Heat the sugar cubes in a pan with 2 tablespoons of water until thickened. Once the caramel turns golden, pour it into a springform pan and swirl it around to coat the bottom and sides well. Peel, core, and quarter the apples. Melt the butter and whisk or use a hand mixer to combine it with the eggs, honey, and flour. Place the apples on the caramel and pour the batter over the top. Bake for 40 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven and turn it out onto a platter. Serve warm or cold.
