Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 100 g prunes or alternatively raisins
  • Fat for the mold
  • Flour for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Breton specialty

Combine flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and milk in a bowl. Stir in the eggs and mix well. Lightly butter and flour a heavy-duty dish (or a baking dish, ideally a springform pan with a firm base). Sprinkle the prunes or raisins into the dish, pour over the batter, and bake in a preheated oven at 175-200°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 45-60 minutes. The baked Far Breton looks almost like a cheesecake, but tastes like a baked pudding. It can be served with coffee, as a hot lunch, or as a dessert.
