Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
For 16 pieces
Preheat the oven to 175°C fan/convection oven or 200°C conventional/top-bottom heat. Combine all ingredients (except the apples) in a bowl and mix well with a mixer. The batter should fall off the spoon with difficulty. If the batter is too stiff, add more milk until it falls off the spoon with difficulty. Line the bottom of a springform pan with baking paper, lightly grease the edges, and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour the batter into the springform pan and smooth it out. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Then place the slices in the batter in a circle, from the outside in, with the inside facing down (you can also place them differently, but this looks great). The batter will rise slightly in the middle. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. The amount depends on your cinnamon preferences and how sweet you want the topping. Then scatter small knobs of butter on the cake. Bake the cake for about 40-50 minutes, until the top is quite brown.
