Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Make a batter from softened butter, sugar, vanilla, salt, orange zest, eggs, flour, and baking powder. Quarter and core the peeled apples. Finely dice one apple and mix into the batter. Pour the batter into a greased 26 cm springform pan. Score the remaining apple quarters lengthwise several times on the curved side and place them on the batter. Spread cold butter in small pieces and the sugar over the apples. Place the halved nuts around the edge and sprinkle the chopped nuts in the center. Bake at 180°C for about 50 minutes on the second rack from the bottom (cover with aluminum foil towards the end of the baking time if necessary). Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar as desired.
