Apple pie without baking powder

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 800 g apples, slightly sour
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Brush a pie or springform pan with 1 tablespoon of oil. Peel the apples, quarter or eighth them, and slice them thinly. Place them directly into the greased pan. Mix the remaining ingredients (flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, 5 tablespoons of oil, eggs) and finally add the milk. Pour the batter – it should now have the consistency of pancake batter – over the fruit. Place the pan in an oven preheated to 200-220°C on the second rack from the bottom and bake for about 45 minutes. Sprinkle the cake with sugar while it’s still warm. The cake won’t rise much because of the lack of baking powder, but it tastes delicious and is quite easy to make. Delicious…while still warm…with whipped cream or vanilla sauce, or simply on its own.
