Apple puff pastry pockets

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 apples
  • 1 dashes rum, or rum flavoring
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp spice mix (apple pie), or mix of cinnamon, clove(s), cardamom
  • 1 pkt. puff pastry, from the refrigerated section
  • 1 egg yolk
  • some condensed milk
  • some powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and dice the apples, then mix well with the vanilla sugar, sugar, and rum in a small saucepan. Sauté the apple mixture for about 5 minutes, then stir in the apple pie spice towards the end. Let cool. Cut the puff pastry into 8 pieces (12 for smaller parcels). Roll out each piece slightly with a rolling pin and place 1-2 tablespoons of the apple mixture in the center. Then fold them into combs, pinwheels, or triangles and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Mix the egg yolk with the condensed milk and brush the mixture over the finished puff pastry parcels. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar once cooled.
