Apple rings, baked in the oven

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • Apples as desired (preferably slightly older apples)
  • some lemon juice
  • possibly cinnamon or other spices

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat the oven to 80 degrees Celsius (180 degrees Fahrenheit). Core the apples using an apple corer. Remove the peel (you can certainly leave it on if the apples are untreated) and remove any rotten bits. Cut the apples into rings and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush both sides with lemon juice. The apple rings should be an even thickness, about 3 mm (1/8 inch). If you like, you can also sprinkle some cinnamon or spices of your choice on the rings. Place the apple rings in the oven and bake for about 1 hour. It’s best to place the finished rings on a rack and let them air dry a little. You can also eat them immediately or simply let them cool on the baking sheet. They also taste great covered in chocolate or sprinkled with coconut flakes. If you like them even sweeter, brush them with honey afterward.
