Apple turnovers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 500 g flour
  • 500 g margarine
  • 500 g apples (preferably sour like Boskop)
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 30 minutes

Mix together the quark, flour, and margarine (warm it up a little if necessary for easier handling) and knead it into a dough. Leave it in the fridge overnight or for at least 8 hours. Roll out the dough thinly, using plenty of flour (otherwise it will stick), and cut out squares. Place the sliced, cored, and peeled apples on top. Fold the dough together to form parcels (the thinner the dough and the smaller the parcel, the tastier), and place the parcels on baking paper in a preheated oven at 220°C for about 15 minutes until golden to brown. Not too dark, otherwise they won’t be as moist! Then sprinkle with a little powdered sugar and serve while still warm. They’ll be the hero of any evening party because they’re so quick and easy to make from scratch.
