Apple Wedges Fried in Butter

The perfect apple wedges fried in butter recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 size Apples – sour, firm
  • 150 g Flour
  • 150 g Butter
  • 150 ml Milk
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 2 Pc. Eggs
  • Lemon juice
  • Icing sugar
  • Salt
  1. Peel the apples (firm tart varieties like Granny Smith or something like that), remove the core and cut into rings about half a centimeter thick. After slicing, place the apple slices next to each other, brush with lemon juice, sprinkle with icing sugar and cover.
  2. Mix the flour with a pinch of salt, the eggs and sunflower oil, pour in the lukewarm milk and stir to form a smooth dough. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for about 30 minutes. Let the butter get hot in a larger pan, pull the apple slices through the batter and place in the pan. Bake the slices in portions on both sides for about 2 – 3 minutes until golden yellow.

  1. A quick dessert that practically everyone likes, probably from Bohemia and already made often and with pleasure by our grandmothers. Sprinkle the finished, crispy rings with sugar and eat by hand or serve something more festive, with crème fraiche or cream in smaller plates.
