Apple wine compote

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 kg apples, small, sour
  • 4 liters of water
  • 8 tbsp lemon juice
  • 500 g sugar
  • 150 g raisins or sultanas
  • 1 liter dry white wine
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 100 g almond(s), flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Combine 3 liters of water and the lemon juice in a bowl. Wash and peel the apples. Cut them into eighths using an apple cutter and remove the cores. Remove any damaged parts from the apple pieces and add them to the lemon water. Combine the remaining water and sugar in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the wine and return to the heat. Then stir in the cinnamon. Drain the apples and place them in 5 prepared preserving jars along with the almonds and raisins. Pour the liquid over them and seal the jars. Sterilize the apple wine compote for 30 minutes at 90°C.
