Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 3 g baking powder
  • 70 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 125 g butter or margarine
  • 6 apples
  • possibly raisins, nougat or chocolate
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Mix all the dough ingredients in a mixing bowl until smooth. If the dough is sticky, refrigerate it for a while. Peel the apples and core them with an apple corer. Roll out the dough evenly and thinly and cut into squares, depending on the size of the apples. Place an apple on each square and fill the apples with chocolate, etc., as desired. Then coat the apples in the dough. Place the cakes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush with the egg yolk beaten with milk. Bake the apples at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for 20 minutes until golden brown.
