Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg apples, sour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 500 ml apple juice or water
  • Cinnamon
  • Star anise
  • clove(s)
  • lemon juice
  • Lemon peel, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Turn on the home cooker and preheat to 250 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, peel, core, and quarter the apples. Melt the butter and caramelize the sugar in it. Then reduce the heat to 130 degrees Celsius and add the apples, liquid, and spices. Close the lid. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Discard the spices and purée the apple compote with a hand blender.
