An eye-catcher, not just for children

Makes about 25 cookies. Preheat oven to 150°C fan/convection oven. Make the cookie dough from butter, flour, sugar, and egg. Roll out the dough on a floured surface, not too thin, and cut out cookies using a cookie cutter (approx. 6 cm in diameter). Use a cookie cutter (approx. 3.5 cm in diameter) to cut out the centers of the cookies. The result should be nice, even rings. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking foil and pre-bake the rings for 7 minutes. Remove the tray from the oven and place an unfilled candy in each ring. Return the cookies to the oven for about 5 minutes. Leave in the oven until the candy has melted. Caution: Do not let the candy mixture boil, as this will create unsightly bubbles. Once the candy has melted, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheet. Now you can easily remove the cookies from the foil and let them cool completely on a wire rack. Melt the chocolate in a saucepan. Now join two rings together. First, cover one with decorative material and cover the other with melted chocolate. Carefully join them together and let the chocolate set. It’s a wonderful eye-catcher! And not just for kids.
