Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 200 g almonds, ground
- 150 g sugar
- 1 tsp honey, liquid
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 pinch of cardamom powder or tonka bean powder
- powdered sugar

Madelkuchen as prepared in Mahgreb
Mix the almonds, sugar, honey, spices, and egg yolks together to form a thick paste. Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold into the almond mixture. Then pour everything into a round springform pan. Bake in the middle rack of an oven preheated to 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes. Let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
