Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g rice pudding
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 2 tsp butter

Place the rice pudding in a sieve and rinse the starch out of the rice until the water is no longer cloudy and milky. Grease a casserole dish and add the rice pudding. Heat the cup of milk and pour it over the rice. Heat the cup of vegetable stock and pour it over the rice as well. The liquid should be about 1-2 cm above the rice. If there is too little liquid in the dish, add more vegetable stock. Spread 2-3 flakes of butter over the rice. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C – 200°C for about 30-45 minutes. A brown crust should form on the rice. This rice makes a great side dish for meat dishes. Note: Don’t be put off by the rice pudding. It doesn’t taste sweet, but it won’t turn out nearly as well with other rice.
