Aronia berry syrup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg berries (aronia berries)
  • ½ liter of water
  • 1 kg sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 1 hour 10 minutes

Briefly spray the chokeberry berries with water. Bring to a boil with 1/2 liter of water and simmer gently for about 5 minutes (stirring frequently). Let the berries cool, then mix well with the sugar and refrigerate for about 1 day (stirring well 4-5 times during the process to dissolve the sugar). Strain the mixture through a fine sieve. Then boil the remaining liquid for 3 minutes. While still hot, pour into sterile bottles, seal tightly, and refrigerate (like jam). The syrup can be diluted 1:6 to taste. The leftover berries are very flavorful and can be used for compote, as a substitute for blueberry omelets, or even for punch.
