Asian-style rice dish

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 4 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 peppers
  • 3 bags of vegetable mix of your choice (steam bath bags for the microwave)
  • 2 jars of Asian sauce, chili or sweet and sour sauce
  • 4 cups rice
  • 6 cups water
  • Oil for frying
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

First, slice the onions and cut the peppers into bite-sized (not too small) pieces. Fry them together with the minced meat in a little oil in a medium-sized pan. Add salt and pepper. At the same time, put the rice and the specified amount of water in a lidded pot and bring to a boil briefly. Then reduce the heat to the lowest setting. The rice will now cook in the covered pot and should be ready when the water has been completely absorbed by the rice. Now cook the steamer bags with the vegetables in the microwave for around six minutes and add the contents to the vegetable and minced meat mixture. Now add the appropriate ready-made sauce, stir in and let simmer for a while. The rice and the contents of the pan can be prepared at the same time. The steamer bags are available at a large discount store with a variety of vegetables.
