Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 1 kg asparagus (1st choice)
- 450 ml cream
- ½ tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- some butter
- 1 pinch(s) of pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Place the peeled asparagus in a large, shallow saucepan. Pour the cream over it. Add sugar, salt, pepper, and butter. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20-25 minutes, if desired. This way, you’ll retain all the important nutrients in the cream sauce that would otherwise be lost in the water. This goes very well with new potatoes and a 1 cm thick slice of cooked butcher’s ham.
