Asparagus Packet
The perfect asparagus packet recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
per person
- 4 Poles Asparagus white fresh
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Sugar
- 1 disc Gouda cheese
- 1 disc Cooked ham
- 1 disc Bacon
- Flour
- Egg
- Breadcrumbs
- Oil
- Peel 4 asparagus spears per person. (For those who do not eat asparagus it can also be carrots) Do not cook the asparagus (carrots) too soft in salted water with a pinch of sugar. Take out of the water and drain.
- Wrap each 4 asparagus spears with a large slice of Gouda cheese. Then wrap a large slice of cooked ham around it and, if you like, wrap a slice of bacon on the outside and stick it with a toothpick. Unfortunately, I only had small slices of cooked ham, but that held up well.
- Now turn the asparagus packet first in flour, then in the beaten egg and finally in the breadcrumbs.
- Heat enough oil in a large pan and fry the packets in it until golden brown.
- We had the asparagus packets with rice and light sauce.
