Asparagus with Difference

The perfect asparagus with difference recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g German asparagus
  • 6 Discs Gouda cheese
  • 6 Discs Cooked ham, slices as large as possible
  • 1 Egg
  • 100 g Flour
  • 100 g Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  1. Peel the asparagus (I had 6 nice thick sticks) and cook it in salted water with a small piece of butter (but it should still have a “bite”)
  2. Wrap 1 stick of asparagus with a slice of Gouda cheese, then wrap a slice of ham around it.
  3. Then turn the asparagus and Gouda ham pieces in flour and then knock them off lightly.
  4. Pull through the beaten egg and roll in the breadcrumbs at the end.
  5. Fry in a pan with heated oil until crispy.
  6. You can eat the breaded asparagus hot or cold.
  7. Tastes super delicious, you don’t need a side dish …. makes you feel full and the asparagus tastes completely different.
