A beautiful decoration for desserts

Combine all ingredients in a small, non-stick saucepan and simmer over medium heat, stirring continuously, for 15-20 minutes until a light yellow caramel forms. You can test the caramel by adding a drop to cold water; it will immediately solidify. Let the caramel cool briefly, then pour it onto baking paper and cover with a second layer of baking paper. Roll it out as thinly as possible with a rolling pin. Let it cool completely and then remove the baking paper. Break the caramel slabs into pieces and serve. Tip: You can arrange slices of goat’s cheese alternately with caramel slivers and serve with fresh berries, grapes, or other fruit.
