Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
From sweet to hearty to creamy-fresh
Meat: For the patties, season the ground beef with plenty of salt and pepper, add Worcestershire sauce, and mix everything together. Using a large cup, flatten the individual patties. Fry in hot oil or clarified butter for three minutes on each side. During the last minute, place a slice of cheese on the meat. Fry the bacon slices in a pan until crispy. Vegetables: Slice the tomatoes and onions (save half an onion for the dressing). Tear leaves from the iceberg lettuce. As variations, you can also place mushrooms, pepperoni, or pineapple on the burger. Fry the onion slices in a little oil in a pan. Sweet dressing: Heat the sugar and the remaining ketchup with 2 tablespoons of mustard in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has melted. Creamy-fresh dressing: Mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of ketchup, and 1 teaspoon of mustard. Grate in half an onion and the gherkin, and mix everything together. To serve: Briefly warm the sliced buns in the oven until slightly crispy. Spread the sweet dressing on the bottom of the hamburger, top with a slice of lettuce, then top with the patty with cheese, bacon, tomato, onions, a spoonful of the creamy dressing, and the lid.
