Baguette rolls with grilled beef, onions and cheese

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 baguette rolls
  • 2 roulades
  • 4 small onions
  • 100 g Emmental cheese
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 1 bunch arugula
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce of your choice

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

First peel the onions, cut into rings or half rings, sprinkle with salt and sugar and knead once. Cut the roulade meat into strips of around 5-6 cm and add it to the onions. Cover and let it simmer for at least an hour. After about an hour, remove the meat from the onions and squeeze them out thoroughly. You won’t need the onion juices and they can be thrown away. Briefly grill the meat on both sides and place them back on the chopping board. Now put the pan on the hot surface and sweat the onions until translucent. Add the meat and let it come to temperature. Season with pepper. Sprinkle with cheese and set everything aside, just letting the cheese melt. Now just assemble everything and you have a really well-rounded and, above all, delicious snack.
